~TORTILLA DE PATATA ~
We can say that it is one of the most symbolic dishes.
The Spanish are divided into two groups, those who get rid of the Spanish omelette with onions and those who cannot stand it.
At breakfast, mid-morning, at lunch, as a snack or for dinner, any time of the day becomes an excuse to enjoy it. INGREDIENTS:
- Oil
- Salt
- 1 onion
- 4 potato
- 4 eggs
PROCEDURE:
1. Peel the potatoes and cut them into pieces that are not too big or too small.
2. We put enough oil in the pan since it has to cover the potatoes over high heat, when the oil is hot we add the potatoes so that they are fried and lower the heat to medium temperature.
3. While the potatoes start to fry, cut the onion into small pieces and add it to the potato in the pan.
4. Beat the eggs in a bowl (add a pinch of salt) and once the potato and onion are cooked (they have to be a little golden but tender) drain the oil and add them to the bowl. Mix well with the eggs and add more salt if necessary.
5. Put the mixture in a non-stick pan with a few drops of oil over medium heat.
6. When you see that the omelette begins to be done on the other side, turn it around with the help of a plate and cook it on the other side.
And tachaaann, you already have your omelette!
PS: It will depend on how long you cook it if it is more cooked or juicier inside, I prefer it juicy so I do not usually leave it much in the pan.
In Spain we usually eated the omelette with cheese, tomato, bread or salad! And the great thing its a vegatarian recipe!
